Easy Frozen Dog Treat Recipes For Summer

Here at Beds-N-Biscuits, we celebrate summer by giving our boarders homemade frozen treats to help them cool off and relax in the sun. Because our furry friends love them so much, we thought we would share how you can make them for your pup all summer long.

These simple and quick frozen treat recipes that will have your dog barking for joy.

What You’ll Need

  • Ice tray or silicone baking mold (try dog bone or paw print shaped)
  • Blender
  • Freezer

Depending on your dog’s favorite foods, you can try the flavors below, or create your own. Just be sure that none of the ingredients are poisonous to pups.

Savory Chicken and Carrot

  • ½ cup cooked and shredded/diced white meat chicken
  • ⅓ cup carrots (cooked or uncooked, can also use shredded carrots)
  • 1 cup plain low fat or greek yogurt
  • Chicken broth for consistency (optional)

Peanut Butter and Banana

  • ½ cup raw, unsweetened peanut butter (avoid sweetened brands with xylitol, which is toxic to dogs)
  • 2 fresh or slightly overripe bananas
  • 1 cup plain low fat or greek yogurt

Strawberries and Cream

  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 cup plain low fat or greek yogurt

Frozen Treat Instructions

  • Blend or puree ingredients, adding water or chicken broth if the mixture is too thick or won’t blend
  • Pour the mixture into the ice tray or mold
  • Freeze for at least two hours, or overnight
  • Pop out and serve!

You can store extra treats in the freezer in an airtight container and give them to your pooch all summer long! You can try different fruits, veggies, and meat combinations to find your dog’s favorite flavor.
