Spring is finally here! The days are getting longer, the weather is warming up, and it’s the perfect time to get outside and enjoy some fresh air with your pup. After months of chilly weather and indoor lounging, your dog is probably eager for new adventures—and we’ve got plenty of ideas to make the most of the season together!
Get Outside!
There’s no better way to shake off the winter blues than a long walk in nature. Find a dog-friendly trail or park and explore new sights and smells together. Just remember to bring plenty of water, keep your pup on a leash where required, and check for muddy paws before hopping back in the car!
Play, Play, Play
Games provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation—plus, they’re just plain fun! We always have a blast at Beds-N-Biscuits with our daycare guests, and challenge our Ultimate Daycare pups to try new ways of playing every single day. On your own, you can try these fun ideas:
Plan an Adventure
Now that it’s warming up, many restaurants and cafés open up their patios to four-legged guests. Grab a coffee, relax in the sun, and enjoy some quality time with your pup. Some places even offer special doggy treats on the menu! Or, consider planning a doggy playdate. If your dog loves socializing, spring is a great time to meet up with friends for a doggy playdate at the park or in your backyard. Watching dogs zoom around together is always a joy, and it helps burn off energy in a fun and safe way.
Boost Your Home Appeal or Hit the Road
Give your pup their own outdoor retreat by setting up a cozy space in your backyard! Add a shaded spot, a doggy pool for warm days, and some fun toys. You can even plant pet-safe flowers to brighten up the space while keeping your pup safe. Or if you’re feeling more like exploring outside of your home base and your dog enjoys car rides, plan a little road trip to a dog-friendly destination. Whether it’s a lake, the mountains, or your favorite hiking spot, new scenery can be exciting for both of you! Don’t forget to pack snacks, water, and a comfy blanket for your pup to relax on.

Remember these Springtime Safety Tips
Watch for allergies – Dogs can have seasonal allergies too! Keep an eye out for itching, sneezing, or watery eyes.
Check for ticks and fleas – Warmer weather brings more pests, so stay on top of preventative care.
Mind hot surfaces – While it’s still early in the season, pavement can heat up quickly in the sun.
Spring is all about new beginnings, and there’s no better way to celebrate than by spending quality time outdoors with your furry best friend. So grab a leash, get outside, and make some unforgettable memories with your pup!
